The March edition of Business Insights from Italy provides an in-depth look at the country’s cosmetics manufacturing sector, confirming its strategic role in the global beauty market, continuing to benefit from robust international demand, a solid trade surplus, and the dynamism of SMEs. Include inoltre un approfondimento dedicato agli incentivi fiscali e agli strumenti di supporto disponibili per gli investitori internazionali.

January 2026 - Investing in Italy: Regulatory Reforms, Growth, and the Machine Tool Excellence

The January 2026 issue opens, as usual, with an update on the Italian macroeconomic context.

This is followed by an in-depth analysis of the enactment of the Regulatory Simplification Law, which is part of a broader institutional strategy aimed at making public administration faster, clearer, and more predictable for both businesses and citizens. This month’s focus centers on the Italian machine tool industry, a sector characterized by a dense network of specialized, export-oriented companies (mostly SMEs). The industry comprises approximately 400 firms and employs around 35,000 workers, recording a production value of approximately €6.3 billion in 2024.

Segue un approfondimento sull’emanazione della Legge sulla semplificazione normativa che rientra in una più ampia strategia istituzionale volta a rendere l’azione pubblica più rapida, chiara e prevedibile sia per le imprese, sia per i cittadini. Il focus del mese si concentra sull’industria italiana delle macchine utensili, il cui settore è caratterizzato da una fitta rete di imprese (per lo più PMI) specializzate e orientate all’export. L’industria comprende circa 400 imprese e impiega circa 35mila lavoratori, consuntivando, nel 2024, una produzione di circa 6,3 miliardi di euro.
